Mr. Skala practices primarily in the areas of taxation, estate planning and commercial law. His experience has included estate planning, business and corporate law and commercial real estate law. He has completed numerous commercial real estate transactions and is experienced with estate planning and corporate structuring to minimize tax consequences for high net worth individuals. Previously, Mr. Skala was responsible for auditing and recreating corporate accounting records in preparation for year-end tax returns and IRS audits as well as drafting forensic accounting reports.
Mr. Skala earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Marquette University before attending Chicago-Kent School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor and Business Law Certification. While in law school, he was a student attorney at the school’s tax clinic where he assisted corporations and individuals in tax planning and minimizing tax liabilities. He also received CALI award honors for the highest grade in Federal Estate and Gift Tax as well as Criminal Law. Mr. Skala served in a leadership role as the president of the Student Humanitarian Network where he led volunteer groups to provide legal assistance in the office of public aid.
Mr. Skala is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is a member of the Illinois Bar Association.
