Ms. Wentworth is an Associate in the Commercial Practice Group at Handler Thayer, LLP and has worked for the law firm since 2011. While in law school, she was also a student attorney at the Valparaiso University School of Law Tax Clinic, where she acted as lead counsel when representing taxpayers and non-profit corporations in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Revenue in every aspect of tax controversy and business formation. She also worked for two hospitals, including a major 13-hospital health system, focusing most of her work there on corporate compliance and contract issues.
Ms. Wentworth earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Print Journalism with a minor in Political Science from the nationally-ranked Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University’s Phoenix campus. She is a widely published author with over 120 articles to her credit. She earned her Juris Doctor degree at Valparaiso University School of Law while participating in the Honors Program. While in law school, Ms. Wentworth was a notewriter and an editor of the Valparaiso University Law Review. She participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program as a tax return reviewer and preparer for the Internal Revenue Service. She also acted as a faculty research assistant to many professors and as a teaching assistant for several legal writing classes (Intro to Contracts, Appellate Advocacy, and Legal Writing & Reasoning). She graduated from law school magna cum laude with honors in May of 2015 at the top of her class, and earned course honors for the highest grades in Legal Writing & Reasoning, Legal Research, Medical Malpractice, and Federal Income Tax.
Ms. Wentworth is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association.
